All About Flower Mound Homes and Lifestyle
History of Flower Mound Real Estate
Flower Mound began as a local store and post office known as Yoakley's back in the 1880's. Other services it offered were a cotton gin and blacksmith shop, until it closed in the 40's.
Grapevine Lake was dug in 1952 by the Army Corps of Engineering, and after an attempt by the city of Irving to annex the land in 1961, it formed the southern border of the newly incorporated town of Flower Mound. Investors began a new 2300 acre development inside the city in 1971, which ended in foreclosure, but encouraged growth and was followed by other planned communities that did succeed.
Flower Mound Lifestyle
Flower Mound was named the Number 2 best place to live in the US by Money Magazine in 2003. It boasts two golf courses, Tour 18 and Bridlewood, and is near the Texas Motor Speedway. Residents enjoy the splendor of the Lewisville and Grapevine Lakes as well.
Shopping is excellent in Flower Mound, with complexes such as Parker Square, Grapevine Mills Mall, Bass Pro, and the Vista Ridge Mall to provide enough diversity for every taste.
Homes and condos in the nationally recognized golf courses, Tour 18 and Bridlewood, are favorites for flower mound real estate buyers. A variety of price ranges are available in the city itself, with homes from the $100's to $900,000-plus.
